The opening reception for the first showing of “Natural Resources” was a great success!
The gallery was packed with people for the entire evening, and several of the artists showed up to check out the show! Attending artists included Mike Burnett, Chris Ryniak, Amanda Spayd, Allie Smith, and Julia Kuo.
We’d like to take a moment to thank Mr. Mike Burnett, without whom none of this would have been possible.
We always love a challenge, and Reckless Toys was kind enough to give us one!
Bigshot Toyworks handled the digital sculpting for the forthcoming Mike Sutfin “MadBattleMan” figure (prototype shown at SDCC 09) as well as the forthcoming figure from Mike Giant!
More details soon….
More than 40 artists have customized Mike Burnett’s “Neighborwood” and brand-new
“Average Joe Schmoe” wooden DIY figures for a traveling exhibit that will open
Friday, November 6th in the Shoparooni Annex Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. The
exhibit will run from November 6th, 2009, until December 5th, 2009.

Unavoidable production delays put this project on the back-burner for a while, but they are FINALLY HERE!!
The “Coney” plush is based on artwork by Brian Taylor, better known as “Candykiller“. One of the best character designers out there, Brian’s work is a stellar blend of old-timey cartoons with a modern edge. It was a challenge to develop a plush figure that did his work justice, but we believe we’ve finally done it.

Think we’ve been doing enough resin lately?
Vs. YOU by Munich-based artist & graff writer Shawn/THESIGNER/Flatau is a 4″ resin statue with an uber-high-gloss finish and a perfect wooden slide-top box.
This edition of only 288 pieces worldwide is a pretty excellent collectible and we had an great time making Flatau’s vision a reality with this piece. Bigshot Toyworks handled full production of the figure and packaging.

Photo by the always astounding Brian McCarty. After multiple manufacturers and producers unfortunately dropped the ball while developing Mark Ryden’s beautiful and subtle design, Long Gone John of Necessaries Toy Foundation was left feeling frustrated by this seemingly impossible task. John turned to Bigshot Toyworks, who worked tirelessly to make sure that every aspect of this figure was perfectly executed to Mark’s meticulous specs. Sculpture by the talented Dave Pressler.
